Is search moving away from Google? Or is the way we search changing?
One can't argue that Google still remains dominant with SEARCH. It's search is becoming less reliant.
So where is search moving to? Well it's actually changing and in fact changed a lot in nature. It has become more social than anything. For e.g I would rather trust a search results tried, rated and reviewed by my friends, family, colleague etc on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ LinkedIn etc than someone willing to pay maximum CPC or knows the SEO tricks for organic ranking.
We can see a huge cloud of opportunity in terms of social commerce based around this SEARCH.

If you are thinking of a career in social media and have got a word doc resume. Delete it!
I had two recruitment companies chasing me to fill in a vacancy for the Social Media Assistant role. They have been bombarding me with perfectly formated (word, pdf) and well written resumes and cover letter.
What did I do with these applications? I deleted them straigth away. Wonder why is that? Here are the reasons:
1) Last thing I want is to see a word file attachment resume for this post (for that matter most of the jobs these days)
2) None of the applicant where search able on Google.
3) Sending a word document/ pdf resume or a cover letter is counter productive when applying for social media jobs. Let your work speak for you.
